Types of Agitators for Liquid Homogenization in Tanks

Top-Mounted Agitators
Robust and flexible agitators mounted on the top of the tank, providing powerful and efficient mixing in both small and large tanks. They can be equipped with one or multiple impellers and are used in applications ranging from water and wastewater treatment to biogas, process industry, and chemical processes.

Side-Mounted Agitators
Installed on the tank wall, these agitators create horizontal circulation that ensures excellent homogenization, particularly in large storage tanks. They are energy-efficient and well suited for applications where tank height is limited or where continuous liquid movement is required.

Bottom-Mounted Agitators
Mounted at the bottom of the tank to provide uniform vertical mixing of clean liquids. They are easy to clean, have a low risk of air entrainment, and ensure good temperature distribution.

Axial Flow Agitators
Propeller-based agitators that generate strong axial flow throughout the entire tank. They are highly effective for homogenization, particle suspension, and temperature equalization, while maintaining low energy consumption and a wide range of applications. Typically installed centrally in the tank.

Turbine Agitators
Provide powerful and intensive local mixing around the impeller and are well suited for higher-viscosity liquids or processes requiring high shear forces. Typical applications include chemical reactions, industrial processes, and reactor tanks.

Ejector or Jet Mixers
Use a liquid stream from an external pump to create circulation, without any rotating components inside the tank itself. This results in very high operational reliability and minimal maintenance. Commonly used in large storage tanks where homogenization of chemicals, solutions, or liquids that cannot tolerate mechanical components in the tank is required.

Air Mixers
Based on air bubbles that lift and circulate the liquid as they rise. Primarily used in biological processes where both mixing and oxygen supply are required, such as wastewater treatment and bioreactors. Less suitable for pure liquid homogenization without biological requirements.
